Even Frankenstein was made of multiple “fabric remnants”. Just like these monsters.

The cooperation we have been waiting for: The monsters of the so-called “three silent carpenters” (an affectionate nickname used at the LPJ studios) won’t be alone any longer! Nicely padded figures made of wool, cashmere or funky fake fur will now accompany them. Using fabric remnants, we create these cute little monsters – hand-crafted, so there is enough space for your individual requests. Would you like some monstrous red eyes? No problem, we have many nice twines to choose from.

Monsters aren’t called Shrek, Slasher or Schlitzer any longer, but Lisa, Paul and Joseph instead

The pillows are great for romping around or throwing them across the room, but you can also comfortably sit and lie on them or use them to individually decorate your room. In short: you can use them in whatever way you like. Paul, for example, is the perfect choice if you just want to lean against something and relax for a while; Lisa can be used for comfortably sitting on the floor. And Joseph? Well, the little one isn’t quite sure yet where he belongs – which offers his owner multiple opportunities for use. Lisa, Paul and Joseph are quite uncommon monster names, though, huh? But since our director’s children are called like that, it seemed obvious to name our little monster pillows after them. That’s also where the abbreviation – LPJ studios – comes from, by the way.

They transform just like real monsters – but with much more humour. Even into mattresses.

If you tuck Paul (the back rest), Lisa (the seat) and Joseph (little I’m-not-sure-yet) into one another, the three monsters become one big mattress. Not a flat furniture joke, no: Paul, Lisa and Joseph add up to an edgy design which fulfils all requirements regarding aesthetic and fabrication. Sewed and stuffed at our own atelier in Aschau and in Augsburg’s prison – not in the sense of exploitation, though, but as part of a social rehabilitation project. A reason to make Greta smile since the monsters are casually saving the planet.
These days, the textile industry is throwing away so many remnants, twines for example, that we have to rehabilitate here as well. At the LPJ studios we use and appreciate these remnants for what they are: precious resources great for casual living – and also good for our planet. Some of Germany’s most luxurious manufacturers already started sending their lorries to our LPJ studios in Aschau instead of just throwing remnants away.

Live, laugh, love. Cuddle, snuggle, lounge. These monsters bring out the best versions of ourselves

Hedwig Bouley, the monsters’ mother, has been designing for René Lezard or Marc O’ Polo for years now. Unsighted designs combined with real sustainability – that’s what she stands for. Even if that makes for sensational rag rugs (it’s said that you can even spot a whole jumper in there from time to time), plaids or cute little monster pillows named Lisa, Paul and Joseph – a really heart-warming idea, simply because it combines fashion, interior and art in a beautiful way.
